Mikke Korpela | |
Mikko Korpela is the co-chair in charge of relations with IFIP and IMIA (International Medical Informatics Association). Mikko Korpela is Research Director of the Healthcare Information Systems R&D Unit, University of Kuopio , Finland . He achieved his D.Tech. degree in Information Systems from the Helsinki University of Technology in 1994. He is member of IFIP WG 9.4 and 8.2, and was organizing the first Health Informatics in Africa conference HELINA'93. Currently he heads health information systems research projects with Nigerian, Mozambican, South African and Chinese partners. | |
Jorn Braa | |
Jørn Braa is the co-chair in charge of relations with non-governmental and governmental organizations. He is associate professor at the Department of Informatics, University of Oslo. Coordinator of the Health Information Systems Program (HISP) and BEANISH. Jorn Braa has been involved in Health Information Systems research and development in many countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America over the last 15 years. | |
Solomon Hagos | |
Solomon Hagos is the co-chair in charge of relations to the government of Ethiopia . He is a Senior Expert in HMIS (Health Management Information System) in the Federal Ministry of Health. He is also working as IT focal person and Telemedicine Coordinator in the Ministry. He is highly involved in the newly HMIS reform (standardization, simplification and integration) of health information system at all levels. He is also coordinating the pilot telemedicine project, implemented in some selected hospitals in Ethiopia . His assignment includes responsibility of ICT related issues in the Ministry. He achieved his BSc. degree in Statistics from Addis Ababa University , Ethiopia and his MSc. degree in Information Processing from University of York , UK . | |
Selamawit Molla | |
Selamawit is a developing country co-chair for the health commission. She has been involved in the Health Information System Program (HISP) Ethiopia since 2003. Her involvement in the project includes developing and implementing Health Information System in regional health bureaus. She achieved her MSc from the University of Oslo in 2005. |
